Victor-Levy Beaulieu of Canada is one of the country’s most prolific writers. He is the author of A Quebecois Dream Jos Connaissant (Canada Council prize for translation, 1982).

Norman Symonds of Canada, one of the most innovative contemporary composers, has had his work performed by many major orchestras. Among his important works are: The Gift of Thanksgiving (1981), Episode at Big Quill: A Prairie Legend (1979), The Fall of the Leaf (1984).

SUSANA WALD – Five Drawings

Susana Wald of Canada has exhibited her own work and worked in collaboration with Ludwig Zeller, appearing in several books, including: Mirages, Circe’s Mirror, and Wanderers in the Mandala.

MIODRAG PAVLOVIC – A Voice Locked in Stone

Miodrag Pavlovic of Yugoslavia is a poet, translator, essayist, and short story writer. Among his works are: 87 Pesaura, Oktave, and Svetli I Tamni Praznici. Singing at the Whirlpool was published in 1983.

PETER SCOTT LAWRENCE – Concerning the Egg and Minutes of an Evening

Peter Scott Lawrence of Canada is a fiction writer. These are his first two published stories.

LUDWIG ZELLER – Eight Collages

Ludwig Zeller of Canada has exhibited widely in this country and abroad and published several books, including: Woman in Dream, Visions and Wounds, 50 Collages, Alphacollage: An Alphabet of Twenty-seven Letters, and In the Country of the Antipodes.


Robert Zend of Canada is among the most experimental writers in the country. His works include From Zero to One, My Friend, Je?onimo, Arbormundi, and Beyond Labels.

JACQUES FERRON – The Penniless Redeemer

Jacques Ferron of Canada is outstanding among Québec’s novelists. His works include The Cart, Papa Boss, Quince Jam, and The Penniless Redeemer.

JENI COUZYN – The One Entering

Jeni Couzyn of Canada and England has published several collections, including Flying, Monkey’s Wedding, Christmas in Africa, House of Changes and Life by Drowning: Selected Poems.


Nicole Brossard of Canada has published volumes of prose and poetry: La Partie pour le tout, French Kiss, Sold-out, Un livre, These Our Mothers.


William Ronald of Canada was a founding member of the country’s pioneer group of abstract painters, Painters Eleven. His “portraits” of the sixteen Canadian Prime Ministers have been presented at the Art Gallery of Ontario.


Michel Beaulieu of Canada is in the forefront of important young poets from Québec. He has published FM, Anecdotes and Oracle des ombres.

SEÁN VIRGO – Selakhi

Seán Virgo of Canada has published two collections of poetry, Pieces for the Old Earth Man, Death Watch of Skidegate Narrows, and a collection of stories, White Lies and Other Fictions.


Diane Keating of Canada has published several volumes of poetry including In Dark Places and No Birds or Flowers.


Ingrid Srolovitz of Canada is an artist.

MARGARET AVISON – Fourteen Poems

Margaret Avison of Canada is among the most important poets in the Country. Her works include Sunblue and Winter Sun: The Dumbfounding – Poems 1940-66.

JUDITH THOMPSON – White Biting Dog

Judith Thompson of Canada is a young playwright. White Biting Dog was presented at the Tarragon Theatre, Toronto.
